Where to find races

Use the plus button in Lawa and choose Search races to browse public races. You can also join from an invite link or from a friend invitation.

Joining from the public race list

  • Open Public races and use search if you know the race name.
  • Tap a race card to open its lobby.
  • Check the race name, map, player list, and start status.
  • Tap Join race when the lobby allows new players.

What the lobby means

The lobby is the waiting room for a race. You can see the selected map, the players who joined, and whether the race is waiting for the host or already counting down.

  • Races can hold up to 16 players.
  • A host can start the race once at least two players are in the lobby.
  • If you have already joined, you can invite friends from the lobby.
  • You can only have 5 active races at a time, including races that are waiting or already running.

After the race starts

Your synced steps move you through the race. If you join a race that is already in progress, Lawa can take you straight to the active race screen after joining.

Before you join

Check that your step source is connected and open Lawa after walking so recent steps can sync. This avoids confusion when the leaderboard starts updating.
